Giants of the Bay

A heavily layered portrait image of eight buildings of various sizes. To the left and right are presumably skyscrapers, buildings that have no visible roof nor bottom. The leftmost one has a complex emergency staircase with a slight golden color, the rightmost one is white with black windows reflecting a golden shine. Inbetween four smaller grey block buildings are huddled, all with emergency stair cases and various tones of grey. Another two buildings are framed in the back by all other structures. One has a reddish sandstone color with a rounded, tower like edge, while the other seems to be a massive block, maybe a skyscraper even. It’s white, with evenly spaced windows and a tiny flag ontop.

A white, slightly dirty or beige building with many small windows with white blinds and Pastelle green frames. The photo has a Dutch angle and is pointing upwards to the top of the building. It has a Center in the image Center where there are some decorations like two spheres ontop and a circular opening to the front of the building. It is filling out half of the frame. It has an irritating clean vibe, little decorations or colours, still mesmerising. Ontop of the building in the distance a tower in the same style with a big green ornamental circle ontop stretches up.

Two wall faces adjacent to each other, both seemingly are from skyscrapers and have little variance in texture and color. The left one is a grid of many equally small windows with sandstone in between. The sandstone has a beige that hinges on the red side. The right one is made purely from glass, resembling a large mirror, showing another white skyscraper in its reflection. The white skyscraper is reflected where one would expect the sandstone one. Both skyscrapers meet in the middle, robbing the image of all expected perspective.

Almost all of them are blown out. No sky is visible above the structure.

The whole image is surreal in its repetitive markup. There is sky visible to the left, its grey with a hint of blue and a hint of cloud structure. Some golden light is tinting the upper part of the building, giving the image a pleasant gradient from grey-blue to light gold.
A massive bridge startes just above a street, encircled by skyscrapers. The bridge starts with a giant stone foot and quickly changes into a metal structure with thick wires at the bottom. Cars that are driving beneath the structure move the scene into perspective, the bridge is much larger and taller than most buildings around it.
